The Occultation of a 10.6 Star by Asteroid Libitina
Sun eve May 18, 2025 at 9:30:18pm
This is a bright occultation that should be easy. Duration = 0.5s, Karl is near the centerline. It's not visible from homes of the rest of our team. I've set an icon at Hwy 17 at the Wedding Chapel. Mtn Charlie Monument is essentially on Karl's chord so not worth setting up at. It looks like our sites of a week or two ago will service well; me at the Wedding Chapel turnout, and Kirk on Laurel Rd.
Alt=35, Az=268 due west, in Cancer about 8 degrees below right of the Beehive Cluster
Results:
Kirk and I were out of the path and poor fog weather.
Karl von Ahnen
Only Karl tried this, from clear skies at home and looks like he got a short positive.
