NGC 6946 or the Fireworks galaxy taken with the 12” Meade LX200 and SBIG ST2000STM at the Cabrillo College Observatory. The images were taken on the night of the 9th of September 2023. There was purple light coming from the horticulture building on campus. This image consists of 3x300s images at -30C corrected with -27c darks as well as flats in CCDOPS and stacked in Deep Sky Stacker. The image was taken and adjusted in SiriL. I did Green removal, other saturation, and other color corrections. I took it into Gimp for more stretching as well as fixing the colors ever so slightly. I used a mask on the galaxy to make it pop more. I cropped the image to finish it.
