Post Trip Photos from the 2026 Spring Astro 27

These photos are from the Instructor's cameras. Likely sometime soon will be more pictures from Kirk Bender. I'll link them when they are ready. Great trip! Kenny drove some of our students, stopping in Gonzalez to get some 'smores fixings and hot dogs for Saturday night. Help in the kitchen was especially appreciated from Ann Pike, and Kirk Bender and Chris Kitting also showed up to help with telescope and astrophotography demonstrations. Weather was good enough - clear-ish skies Friday and Saturday night. The Sunday morning appointment with Comet R3 PANSTARRS alas was clouded out, but Saturday before dawn yielded a few shots between clouds for Chris.

Julian found this decrepit old chair tossed somewhere along the drive, and commandeered it for use around the campfire. Thrifty thinking!

My French Crepes breakfast, another big success.

These are Kirk's photos. He loves photographing my crepes.
